All around good, but be warned: if you eat these cinnamon rolls, every other cinnamon roll will disappoint you. They have wedding cake cinnamon rolls, birthday cake cinnamon rolls, chocolate cinnamon rolls. Very reasonably priced, and one cinnamon roll is pretty much a small cake. It's the size of an entire tube of grocery store cinnamon rolls put together.
They're in the top 5 best things I've ever put in my mouth.
If there were 8 stars I'd give it 9. These are kolaches your Czech grandmother will by and stop making them. Lots of times when I go in there I see people who are speaking Czech, Slovak or German. So if they eat there (and that never happens at Czech stop) what do you think. Oh, and don't get snippy if they are a little slow, this ain't Buccees. They are nice, polite and handle their food like they care, because they have pride in their work.
FYI - The day 5 years ago when the West explosion happened, they were giving away kolaches. I stopped in thinking I would help buying a dozen. The lady filled the box and as she handed them to me she said all the orders are free today. We are thanking everyone for supporting West.
We accidentally discovered this palace of pastry goodness. The items are always fresh. The service friendly. It has a sit down and relax feel. My spouse and I look forward to stopping at Gerik's when we travel that way...we have been known to jump in the car and make a "trip" to Gerik's, just because those lovely pastries are calling to us. My husband has a sweet tooth, I always enjoy the savory items. A nice treat away from the hurry up world.
I was referred to this establishment by a friend that goes on, and on about this place. We usually stop at The Czech Stop right off of the highway, but we decided to try this place out instead. I love that it such a quaint little spot that is family owned. The variety was amazing, ALMOST as amazing as the taste! The only complaint I have, and the only reason I am not rating this place a five is because of the poor customer service we received by the young lady behind the counter.
This is by far, our favorite bakery! It's a MUST STOP when traveling thru West. And no long lines like those other places.
